Fashion vs. The Recession
Everyone is tightening their wallets these days and that’s forcing fashion designers and retailers to adjust to the rapidly changing economy!
Clothing retail store owner Alan Au states what I’ve been suspecting for a while:
While some people will be innovative and put creativity to the test by working with what they have, most people will conform to a more classic or traditional (not always the same) look, choosing staple items that have style longevity … I expect subtler choices rather than blaring design differences when expressing individual style.

If you’ve been following the runways then you’ll notice that many fashion designers are downplaying some of the extravagance that we’ve seen in the past. As Alan suggests, people are choosing to go with staple items.
But c’mon now, ladies. When did a little recession slow us down? We just have to be a little more crafty, a little more creative and shop smarter!
I’m always getting wonderful designer clothes in my consignment store – Great Labels – and they’re on sale at 50 to 75 percent off retail!
Consignment stores are your secret weapon to continue looking fabulous in the face of this economy!
I’ll see you soon. ![]()
