Lifetime + Project Runway = Letdown?
In case you haven’t noticed, the hit show Project Runway has moved over to Lifetime after a long stint on Bravo.
The first episode of the new season starts tonight!

We’re definitely looking forward to it!
Project Runway has to be one of the best reality shows on television. Sure there’s the usual manufactured drama you’ll usually find in these reality shows but there aren’t very many reality shows that actually challenge a person’s intelligence and creativity!
But the move to the Lifetime network is met with some concern:
The truth is, “Project Runway” belongs on Bravo, a network so finely attuned to the nuances of greed, vanity and false pride that it’s accidentally turned into one of America’s most piercingly true critics.

The column goes on to talk about how Project Runway will lose its teeth because of the switch to a more “safe” network like Lifetime.
The New York Times was a bit more blunt:
What’s jarring is the marriage between the series and its new home. “Project Runway” is Barneys; Lifetime is Kohl’s.
Ouch!
